More summer fun

Another summer weekend.
This one included a few new toys. A giant swan. And a kids kayak! It was hard for Will to maneuver with his cast. But Ella caught the hang of it quickly and loves it! Wyatt is not sure yet.

Our favorite holiday!

Fourth of July gave us an extra long weekend!  We started out early at home with smoke bombs, firecrackers and water balloons to start the holiday off.

We headed to the lake bright and early Saturday.  After a full day of swimming and tubing we ended the night with s'mores.

Sunday the kids fished and swam, and fished and swam, and fished and swam some more.  And then Chris did some fishing, and caught a very, very small minnow, haha.

It was finally time for fireworks.  Will read during the first half, before it got too dark.  And Ella promptly fell asleep as soon as it got slightly dark.  And she slept through the entire event!
It was the perfect holiday weekend.

Fun with the fishes

We had hopped to take a mini vacation, but Will's broken arm and Wyatt's swimmers ear (that wouldn't go away) changed our plans.  So we had a staycation day instead, to the aquarium. Wy and Ella don't recall ever going before (we had a membership the first year Ella was home....but they were both so young...).

We stopped at the stingray petting pool first.  They loved it!  Even though Wyatt only wanted to watch, and "pet them from behind the glass".  Which is the same thing he did when we got to the sturgeon tank too.  The butterfly garden was a hit with all three!  Ella was the butterfly whisperer, they all landed on her.  Will was disappointed no one wanted to land on him.  But he was pretty happy to just study them up close and personal.  Wyatt was SO excited to finally see real-live penguins.  And we got lucky that it was feeding time for them!

Will excitedly showed us all the "secret" doors he got to use while he was at aquarium camp in June. And point out the creatures he got to see up close.

Of course, we were all excited to see the otters play around.

It was a fun-filled day with Mimi!

A week later....

After complaining of arm pain for a week or so we decided to go to the dr. A quick trip for X-rays and a visit to the Ortho got Wilson a cast for the next three weeks. Turns out a crash on the bouncy house at Wyatt's party turned caused a fracture. Not the best way to start July!
Thankfully we chose a water proof cast so hopefully we can still have some pool days before school goes back.

Still celebrating SIX

It's Wyatt's SIXTH birthday! He bucked tradition and requested dinner out, Salsaritas, of course.  And nixed a Mommy made cake in lieu of a cookies and cream frozen pie. Fitting since he's obsessed with all things Oreo right now. He got more Legos than he could ever want. And a highly requested "snerkle" as he calls it. He said it was the best day ever!
