We can check Santa off our list. We went to a cookie party on Sunday were the jolly ole guy was there.
Here are the crazies waiting to see Santa. I say crazies because they were, in fact, crazy. Hyped up on sugar and adrenaline. Case and point:
Will has been to this party several times before. But this is the first time he’s chosen to talk to St Nick. And he did it begrudgingly. I think he was afraid that if he didn’t talk to him he wouldn’t get anything.
I asked him what he asked for, he said a keyboard (which is on his list). But he left off all the other important items. [Totally reminding me of the scene in The Christmas Story movie.] I told him not worry since we had not sent Santa the official list yet.
Miss Ella….well, she’s still Santa’s #1 fan. Last year she met Santa here and would barely leave his side! This year was no different. She hopped in his lap like they were old friends. And because he IS Santa, he started singing Jingle Bells to her. He KNEW this was her favorite song (all year long). He didn’t sing to any of the other kids, but he just knew it was her song. We were all pretty speechless. Ella’s Santa encounter was pretty magical.
She then whispered in his ear her list (a pink kitchen, games and toys). And happily walked away.
Of course, I can’t not mention that Ella had met the jolly guy the day before at the mall. She and Mimi were out running errands and decided to make a quick stop to say to Hi. Of course Mimi couldn’t leave without a picture. Ella was SO excited about her special visit.
Though now she keeps asking why the presents are taking so long to get here!
OH, forgot to mention Wyatt. There is video, but it was ugly. He was afraid of Santa. No surprise there. But he was all talk until we got face to face with him, and it was all down hill. Bless his heart, he is just like his Momma. Maybe one day he’ll change his mind (It only took me 7 years to decide to sit on his lap….but only with a few younger cousins in tow.)
