our very own jurassic park

DSC06519

Velociraptors is all we hear about these days. I’ve already mentioned Will’s current love of dinosaurs but he is really embracing them. Triceratops is his #1 favorite (Will likes to add “3-horned face” after saying their name). We have worked this puzzle (thanks Val) at least 5 times in 24 hours. Will does 90% of it on his own. Then he gets out the poster that came with it and goes over each and every dinosaur asking if we know what they are or telling us about them. He loves to say “Velociraptors are meaner than T-Rex’s so we don’t want to look at them”. Not sure where this love of the dino’s came from but we’ve definitely moved on from the lovable purple ones, Dorothy the Dinosaur and Barney.

In other dino news, the zoo has a dino exhibit going on and we hope to visit very soon!

And I’m not sure what’s up with Will’s pose but I guess he’s going to be the kid that must be moving at all times in order to learn. We have a parent/teacher conference tomorrow so I’m interested to hear what they have to say about his behavior in class, should be interesting.

And in case you are wondering, I am clueless how to pronounce any of these names. Google is helping me with that. But I’ve lost count how many times I’ve had to say “go ask your Dad” when he asks what one is called. Surely there is an app for that!

Do you know the book "Dinosaur Rumpus"? It's lots of fun for dino lovers and has plenty of new difficult dinosaur names for you to learn. :)
